"The church is not a hotel for saints, it is a hospital for sinners." - generally attributed to Saint Augustine
“The Church is the only organization organized primarily for the benefit of its non-members”
William Temple, former Archbishop of Canterbury.
We are all on a journey through life. We would like to invite you to walk with us, and to offer to walk with you, as we all journey through life.
As a church we are a group of Christians, journeying through life together. We are followers or disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Disciple means a pupil or student of Christ. It is a life-long adventure. There is always more to learn about God.
We meet week by week to encourage each other in our Christian life and to learn more of what it means and how it applies to our lives today. We organise special courses in Lent and Advent to make space in our busy lives to consider the real meaning of Easter and Christmas. All of our churches are open every day for private prayer and quiet space.
For some of life’s events the Church offers a format of service that can be used, e.g. baptisms, confirmations, weddings (or a Wedding Blessing following a civil marriage) and funerals.
Sometimes we feel the need for company along life’s way, either at times of joy, sorrow or any other life-changing event. For some events we just want somebody to share our joy or pain and a public church service would not be appropriate. Please contact Revd Janet if you want such company.
