‘A Celebration of Shakespeare’
As you enter the church, on your left and immediately behind the door is an arrangement depicting Richard the Second. The British Isles are seen and the blue and white flowers in the arrangement depict the sea surrounding them while the poppies and corn indicate the land belonging to the king. This land he loses to Bolingbroke, having previously banished him from England. Bolingbroke becomes King and Richard is murdered.
