The death of a loved one is always a hard and difficult time no matter at what age the person has died.
The church will always offer to help at this time with appropriate services in church. That may be a funeral service to be followed by burial in one of the benefice churchyards or a cremation, or it may be a memorial service when the burial or cremation has already taken place. Following a cremation there can also be a service to mark the interment of ashes in one of our churchyards. While there are some legal conditions as to who can be buried in our churchyards, we seek to be as flexible and helpful as possible within these parameters.
We will always seek to give appropriate support to the bereaved in informal ways following a death, whether immediately or some time later. Bereavement is a process that has no set end. Please feel free to get in touch with the Churchwardens if this applies to you.
